Halfway there

20 weeks today! Crazy that its already halfway over. In 20 weeks (give or take a few weeks), we will have a beautiful baby boy around. Over the last couple of days, Ive felt him move around a little more often. Since the first time I felt it, I pretty much only felt him move every 2-3 days. It was just once a day usually and I couldn't really predict when it would happen. Over the weekend and this week, Ive felt him move every night (Brad tries every night to feel him, no such luck yet) and over the last 2 days, he starts moving around after I have breakfast and I'm sitting at my desk in the morning. I pretty much felt him off and on all day yesterday. Im hoping it continues and I keep feeling him all the time. The more I feel him, the more likely it is that he will kick me hard enough for Brad to feel. I cant wait for him to share that with me. Other than that, Im just kinda hanging out. I know the baby likes fruit and caffeine and will move around a lot after that. Brad and I are starting to talk about getting a registry together. I know it needs to be done soon. I want to start making some plans and get ready for the big change in our lives.

I have a doctors appointment at 3:00 today. When we had our ultrasound, the tech said everything looks good but that she isnt a doctor (AKA, I don't want to get sued if I'm wrong :)). So we have our appointment today to do my normal checkup and get our ultrasound results. Hopefully everything will go well and Baby Abel will be perfectly healthy. He is just adorable in our 3D pictures! I am determined to have a cute baby :p.

Drumroll Please...

Well today was our Level 2 Ultrasound (or Anatomy Scan). The day started out nice and slow (of course considering that I was looking forward to it) and I was ready to get it done. I left work at 1:30 and went to pick up Brad. I had to drink a whole bottle of apple juice on the way to get my bladder full which wasnt too bad. Our appointment was at 2:30 and we got to bring in a DVDRW to capture the whole thing.

The tech spent the first 20 min or so getting all the measurements she could before we really started talking about what we were seeing. We got to see little feet, hands, toes, fingers, and an awesome little beating heart. She finally stopped at one point and said "What do you think it is?". I said right away that I thought it was a boy...and guess what...its a little BOY! He was shy at first but whenever he was ready to show it off, it was plain as day. No question about it, its DEFINITELY a boy. Sometimes he moved around so much that she had a hard time getting the measurements. At one point, he just got really shy and put his hands over his face and would not move them for anything. No matter what we tried. At another time he just turned his back to us and wouldnt move for a good few minutes. I figure if he is gonna be stubborn already, we might be in trouble. We asked her if everything looked okay and she told us that she wasnt a doctor  but everything looked good from what she knows. One of the coolest things the happened was she switched it over to 4D and gave us a couple of pictures that way. We found out that I have an anterior placenta (which is probably why I dont feel him move every day) so it was hard to get good pictures but we got a couple of his face.

We then went over to my parents house and visited with both sets of future grandparents. They are very excited to have a little boy in the family. So everything went well! We have an appointment with my doctor on Tuesday and we will get her interpretation of everything and make sure everything is good to go. Cant wait for Tuesday!

18 Weeks today!!

Well, today is 18 weeks along. Over the last couple of days, Ive been feeling some baby movement! Its exciting and puts a smile on my face every time. It kinda feels like a muscle spasm or something tapping me from the inside. Its definitely an interesting feeling. Next Friday is our big ultrasound! We cant wait to see our little one again. We havent seen the baby since week 7. One of my friends posted pictures on her Facebook page of her 15 week ultrasound when I was 16 weeks. I showed Brad the picture and he was amazed at how much it had changed from 7 weeks to 15 weeks. So on May 20th (ultrasound date), Brad's parents are going to come into town and have dinner with my side of the family and we are going to reveal the sex of the baby to them (assuming the baby decides to cooperate). Should be fun! Anyway...on to the form :)
